Nokia Mobile And Samsung Instinct Query

Another query by our reader K. Hareesh in our very popular Ask-Us section

Hi i am planning to buy a new cell phone and the cell must have the following features :

1. Good Battery Backup

2. 2MP cam with good Zoom feature

3. Expandable Memory (Upto 1 G.B)

4. Must hav nice audio features with clarity and surround effect.

5. The phone must be sleek and stylish

Please suggest me with a cell phone having above features in Nokia only.

My budget is (7000-8000)rupees.

In your budget i.e. 7000-8000 rupees, the best phone to get would be the Nokia 6233. It is a bit old now but has all the features you would want - A great 2 MP cam, superb sound quality and speakers, the easy to use S40 User Interface, expandable memory upto 2 GB, GPRS, EDGE, 3G, Bluetooth etc. It has great looks too but that is completely subjective. Its not very slim though. Continue reading ‘Nokia Mobile And Samsung Instinct Query’

Port Forwarding and System Restore Query

The first query is by Milin Paul :

I want an help regarding my router wireless one. Some days back i bought Linksys WRT160N wireless router. I have got bsnl india 256kbps plan. I usually downloading so many things from uTorrent but no it seems to be blocked or doesnt gets much speed. I checked the windows firewall and the routers one its all disabled. But then also the uTorrent doesnt responds much, but when i connected directly from modem no problems it works properly and also i get almost 30kbps speed for torrents. So help out from this problem.I didnt get much speed (very low speed) when i connect my WRT 160N but its firewall and all are disabled. So kindly help me to get rid of the problems. I posted this problem from so many sites nothing finds good so plz do help me in this matter…. Plz mail to me regarding this problem

The problem lies with port forwarding. I hope you are aware what that means. If not, it means that you need to configure your router to allow data exchange freely through the port used by uTorrent. In the uTorrent window, check at the bottom just left to the download speed, what is the network status. It must be showing network problem as the port is not forwarded. To solve the problem, you need to open up the router configuration page and forward the port. Detailed instruction for your router can be found here.

Nokia E66 Review

The Nokia E66 is the newest addition to the Nokia E Series family. The E Series family is reputed to have feature packed, value for money, high end business phones and the E66 is no exception.  It was launched alongwith the other heavy weight from the E Series stable, the E71 which was quite a good phone, as we reviewed here at Digit Geek. The E66 has specifications largely similar to the E71. In fact, there is little difference between both phones except the design, form factor and the lack of the QWERTY keypad in the E66.

It is primarily aimed at business users who would like a smart phone packed with features, a superb design with a dash of style, and can do without a QWERTY keypad. It does have good multimedia capabilities as well, which make it versatile in function. It can handle almost anything you can throw on it easily as it is powered with a fast processor and loads of RAM. Being a Symbian OS v9.2 FP1 phone, it has a large repository of applications and games which add to its functionality and make it an all rounder.

Nokia E66 Specifications:

  • Dimensions: 107.5 x 49.5 x 13.6 mm

Remote Access and ADSL Router Query

The first query is by johan3000 :

Hi DigitGeek Team,

How can I access (remote access) my computer in my office from home easily (using mobile phone)? cause office has free internet access (unlimited) but not at home NOT!

thanks!

You seem to have muddled up everything. You wish to access your office PC from home so that you can use the office internet from home? If that is what you intend to do, then you are mistaken as it is not possible to access the office internet at home. Yes, you can access the office PC from home but not use the office internet.

This is because of the simple reason that when you access anything on the other PC through your home PC then it is your home internet connection that gets used, internet is provided through wired connections (wireless have short range) so to access an internet connection you need to have physical access to the wire which is impossible in your case.

However, if this is not what you meant, find below how to remotely access PCs using windows.
